UBCAA Seeks Updates On
The national
administration of UBCAA has requested from Superintendent Ranney

In a letter to
Superintendent Jackson and members of the Bong Legislative Caucus, the National
President Mr. J. Flomo Matthew said: In July 2008,
the Government of Liberia compiled a comprehensive County Development Agenda
(CDA) with specific project in each District in each County,
time lines for the completion of each project, and associated costs. UBCAA
believes such was a job well done on the part of the Government of Liberia, for
it put in print for the first time comprehensive development agendas with
measurable milestones for our Counties. UBCAA believes the Government of
Liberia, having gone through the efforts to put this document together and
displayed it in public domain such as the Internet was on to great things for
our Counties and our Country. Further, UBCAA believes this was not an unfunded
mandate. The Government of Liberia fully funded those development projects
whose time frames have expired and shall fund or is funding those whose time
frames have yet to expired. Until proven otherwise,
UBCAA holds true to the above position.
In view of the above,
UBCAA, very impressed with GOL's efforts to foster
developments in our County in a transparent manner (considering the elaborate
nature of the CDA) has developed a comprehensive document to gauge the statuses
of the various projects as outlined in the CDA. Click HERE
to see document. It is compiled in Microsoft Excel. It is the handy work of the
Co-chairwoman of the Good Governance Committee of UBCAA Ms. Nyankor
J. Matthew. Upon opening the document, you will see several TABS at the bottom
of the page. The first TAB entitled "Footnote" highlights snapshot of
the document such as color code used, districts, and total costs of the
County's project. The second TAB entitled "Bong" highlights districts
and towns, responsible Ministries, time frame, and costs. The remaining TABS
highlight each district, type of projects, responsible government Ministries,
collaborating partner(s), time frame and estimated costs.
This communication comes
therefore to respectfully request of you, especially Superintendent Jackson
updates on the various projects in each district outlined in the Bong County
Development Agenda by the Government of Liberia as reflected in the document
attached herein. UBCAA believes such updates are very important as such would
inform UBCAA in its efforts to seek assistance in areas foreign to those
projects undertaken by the Government of Liberia to avoid duplication of
efforts. Such would also inform UBCAA's members in
the Diaspora about Government of Liberia's efforts in the development of
