The United Bong County Associations in the
Americas (herein refer to as the
Association), during its 19th Plenary Session held in
Providence, Rhode Island, United States of America resolutely acknowledged and
agreed to the following:
WHEREAS the
Association recognizes and acknowledges that its influence and impact in
Liberia in general and Bong County in particular cannot be realized without the
undertaking and completing of projects that are of immediate benefits to the
people of Bong County, and
WHEREAS the
Association recognizes that its activities in the United States has been
mediocre at best and have not galvanized Bong County citizens and residents in
the Diaspora, and
WHEREAS the
Association recognizes that the current leadership in Bong County has not been
responsive to the people as evident by lack of cohesiveness among and between
the Bong Legislative Caucus thereby depriving the people of Bong a united
legislative representation on national issues, and
WHEREAS at
the time of the 19th Plenary Session during which elections for the
Association’s national leadership team would have been held, the Elections
Commission reported that no candidates have come forward to contest the open
positions, and
WHEREAS
individual, rather than county loyalty permeates throughout the Association,
both at the local chapter and national levels, and
WHEREAS
communication has been nonexistent between chapter leaders and infrequent and
inadequate with the national leadership,
NOW THEREFORE, the Association resolves and takes the
following actions:
The
Association will undertake a project to build water hand pumps in all district
headquarters in
That it is
essential that the activities of the Association be made available to the
media, especially those in
That
education of our people about the electoral process is important so that they
can exercise their voting rights to choose the candidates that will best serve
them.
That the
report of the 2011 Commission be made available to the chapter leaders so that
their constituents can discuss and suggest ways of implementing the
recommendations therein.
That to strengthen the Association, the following steps
should be taken:
1.
Aggressive local chapter recruitment of citizens, residents
and friends of
2.
That there be periodic teleconferences between and among
the various chapter leaderships to share ideas on improving the organization.
3.
That the constitutionally mandated quarterly
teleconference with the national leadership be held.
4.
That the local chapter leaderships provide information
about Bong County citizens, residents and friends of Bong County in the
Diaspora on the UBCAA’s Libserve.
5.
That the Association, through its national leadership
should continue to engage the county leaders to work together for the common
good of the people of

That henceforth, the Association will undertake manageable
projects that can be completed for the benefits of the people of
7.
That the Association at this 19th Plenary
Session took step to suspend the portion of the constitution dealing with
elections and directed the Board of Directors to ask the current national
leadership team to remain in place for another year. That the Election Commission whose term
expired upon making its report be reconstituted to conduct the elections at the
next plenary session in

That primary reason for membership in the Association is
