UBCAA Agricultural Investment Portfolio

Engineering Food Security through Agro-Industrial Innovation

The UBCAA Agriculture Program is a flagship intervention designed to transform the subsistence landscape of Bong County into a vibrant, Macro-Economic Agribusiness Sector. Operating under the strategic oversight of the UBCAA Liberia Program, we view agriculture not merely as a survival strategy, but as a sophisticated engine for regional wealth creation and climate-smart resilience.

Our Community Farm

We have established a premier Community Farm in the heart of Bong County, specializing in the cultivation of high-yield Rice, Cassava, and Essential Vegetable Crops. This facility serves as a “Living Laboratory,” providing hands-on pedagogical training for the next generation of Liberian agronomists. We emphasize the dual-value of farming: as a primary source of household nutrition and as a scalable, profitable enterprise.

The Innovation Edge

The UBCAA Agriculture Program is defined by its commitment to Value-Added Processing. A primary example of our innovative rigor is our Super Gari Production initiative. By transitioning from raw cassava harvesting to the technical processing of fortified, high-grade Gari, we are:

  • Extending Shelf Life Reducing post-harvest losses and ensuring year-round food security.

  • Increasing Market Value Capturing higher margins for local farmers by delivering a “market-ready” consumer product.

  • Nutritional Fortification Designing food products that meet the specific caloric and vitamin requirements of rural families.

Scaling

To meet the demands of a growing regional market, UBCAA is seeking strategic partners to scale our processing capacity. Our goal is to move from community-level production to a Regional Agro-Processing Hub. Your investment supports:

Industrial Mechanization
Procuring modern graters, pressers, and frying stations for Super Gari.
󰉣 Cold-Chain Logistics
Ensuring vegetable crops reach the Gbarnga and Monrovia markets with zero waste.
󰉩 Climate-Smart Extension Services
Equipping 500+ smallholder farmers with high-resilience seedlings and technical training.
