UBCAA Liberia Program Office

The UBCAA has established its first office in Liberia after more than 31–years of existence. Located at the Bong County Women Center in Gbarnga City, this office is responsible for developing and managing all UBCAA programs, projects, and activities in Liberia.

UBCAA Liberia Program Farm

As part of its food security program, the UBCAA Liberia Program in November 2021 acquired farmland along the Gbarnga – Ganta Highway. The land is under cultivation to plant cassava and other vegetable crops.

UBCAA Liberia Program Humanitarian / Community Interventions

On behalf of UBCAA National President, Mr. Caimon Joe Kollie and other Bong County cities in the United States, UBCAA Liberia Program Team leaders, Philip T. Singbah, Sr. and Charles Nuwoe Kellen presented food and non-food items to persons living with disabilities in Bong County for July 26, 2021, Independence Day and December 25, 2021, Christmas celebrations, respectively.

In September 2021, heavy torrential rains in Bong County caused a flood disaster that destroyed several homes in Gbarnga and its environs. Many people lost their homes and took shelter at the Liberia National Red Cross Society office in Gbarnga, Bong County. The UBCAA, through its National President Caimon Joe Kollie and another prominent son of Bong County Leo Mulbah, made a presentation of food and non-food items to over fifty families affected at the time. Bong County Superintendent Esther Walker and the Liberia National Red Cross Society Field Officer assigned to Bong County Roland Enders were there to receive the items from the UBCAA Liberia Team.

As part of support to the student community, the UBCAA Liberia Team, on December 6, 2021, presented an amount of USD300.00 to the Bong County Student Union (BONSU). The UBCAA National President, Caimon Joe Kollie, gave the money to BONSU to support the student union convention, which was held on December 20, 2021.

Community Engagement

The UBCAA believes the student community is an integral part of the progressive system of our society and should not be left out in its activities. With this in mind, the Liberia Program Team persistently engages Bong County students at both the grade school and university levels. In this special zoom meeting hosted by the Bong County Student Association at the William V.S Tubman University in Harper Maryland County, UBCAA National President, Caimon Joe Kolle, addressed the student body on the historicity of the UBCAA and its fundamental values. President Kollie also thanked the students for taking an interest in the UBCAA and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their academic endeavors.

Inside UBCAA Monthly Radio Program

The UBCAA developed a syndicated monthly radio program (Inside UBCAA) that aired twice a month in Bong County, Liberia (started in October 2021), which allowed UBCAA to showcase its vision and works and other important programs.

The UBCAA Liberia Program Team members, Philip T. Singbah Sr., Charles Nuwoe Kellen, and Paul K. Kerkulah interviewed by the radio host Moses Bailey on Radio Gbarnga 96.5 MHz in Bong County interacting with citizens of the county on the activities of the UBCAA in Liberia.
